Murano glass is glass made in Murano or according to the artisanal traditions of this island of Venice.
The 'special' ingredient in Murano glass is silica sand, while special fluxes and stabilizers are added to melt the glass at lower temperatures and create beautiful objects. Minerals such as cobalt and copper, as well as gold and silver foil, are often added for color. Centuries-old techniques are still used, which makes Murano glass a very special kind of art.
